2011-2012 Pictures

The students celebrated Dr. Suess' birthday with tons of fun activities.  When students visited Ms. Studt's class, they made Cat in the Hat hats with the -at word family and listened to The Cat in the Hat.

On Valentine's Day, the students made cards for a special someone.  The hearts were put together to make a butterfly and the card read "You make my heart flutter."  They also decorated bags and then passed out their Valentines.  Students were excited to recieve the Valentine Grams from friends, teachers and family.

These are from our 100th day.  We practiced writing and recognizing our numbers by filling in a 100s chart and then coloring in numbers to make a smiley face.  We counted how many times we could say the alphabet, clap, hop, and write our names in 100 seconds.  We counted out ten of each snack to make up a trail mix that had 100 pieces in it.  We also drew portraits of what we look like now and what we might look like in 100 years.  Look for all of these activites in your child's folder!

Sue Cook from ISU Extension visited our classroom and taught us about Johnny Appleseed and his journey.

Kaleidoscope Connections visited our classroom before and after we attended The Frog Prince.  The students are working on creating Tableau skits based on popular fairy tales.

These pictures are from when we went to see The Frog Prince at GBPAC.   A big thank you to all the parents who helped that day!

We made these cute snowmen out of Hershey's candy bars!
